Vinings Voices with a Shout of Smyrna
John Willis Homes is building Stonegate, a luxury enclave of eight homes on 1/2-acre lots with hardwoods off Atlanta Road. "The opportunity for large home sites and the proximity to numerous private schools [Whitefield Academy, for example]" are big draws, said Judie Woodall, executive vice president. The traditional brick, stone and shake homes with four or five bedrooms, four baths and three-car garages are priced from the $700,000s to $800,000s.
Ashton Woods is preselling single-family homes at the Enclave at Oakdale off Oakdale Road in Smyrna. The swim community will have 110 slab and basement homes in six designs with 1,800 to 2,400 square feet.
Located on Queens Mill Road, Kingsbridge is down to its last two homes (four bedrooms, 2,800 to 3,200 square feet) priced from the $270,000s, but there's a new phase of 80 homes starting. The community will include a pool, cabana and playground.
"People like the up-and-coming area of Veterans Memorial Highway in Mableton" for the square footage and the price, said Britt Amtower, agent for McCAR Homes. "The area is close to I-285, and there's a new Publix shopping center to serve the growing number of new residents."
Nearby, the Estates at Mount Gerizim, a Wellstone Communities neighborhood, has traditional homes on 1/2 acre to an acre. Four traditional homes and 34 sites are available in the last phase. Home prices range from $281,500 to $313,500.
Also off Veterans Memorial Highway, John Wieland's Providence has about 15 homes and 35 townhouses rising. The five townhouse plans with two to four bedrooms and brick fronts are priced from $204,900 to $340,900. The Craftsman-style singe-family homes are priced from $354,900 to $450,000. Coming in 2006 are live/work spaces at the front of the swim/tennis community.
Located off Mableton Parkway, with easy access to I-20 and I-285, Brookview is a gated condominium community from Fox & Jacobs Homes in the popular three-story townhouse style. With exteriors of Hardiplank siding and brick, each has two or three bedrooms, a bonus room and one-car garage. They're priced from $154,900 to $174,000.
